Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The Plain View Combined School is very fortunate to have a flourishing Parent Teacher Association. This group of very active, productive and dedicated parent and teachers meets once a month and more often during busy periods to organise a number of successful events on behalf of the school. These include: – days out, dinners and other social and educational events as well as raising vital funds for school equipment and various charitable causes. Their recent successes have included an Easter Parade, a Reading Carnival, a Christmas Fair, a Quiz Night, Teacher Appreciation Dinner and a Spelling Bee for parents is in the pipeline.
The PTA has proven to be a very effective vehicle for empowering parents to come together, share hopes and ideas and make things happen. All parents and teachers of the school are automatically members so read on to see how you can get involved. We could always do with extra help for the PTA, so if you would like to join, help out with a single event or come along to a meeting just to see what the PTA is all about, please contact the Administrator for further details.
Elections to the committee takes place annually. The support that we receive from the PTA is immense and we are very grateful for all their efforts.
The PTA is currently raising funds to purchase resources to enhance the indoor and outdoor environment of the school.
The members of the PTA generally work tirelessly throughout the year in an effort to improve the social, environmental and financial standing of the school and it is important that their efforts are rewarded with support from the whole school community. PTA meetings are held monthly. You will be notified of the exact time at a later date. The annual General Meeting is held late in the year at which election of office bearers takes place. The aim of the PTA is four-fold: 1. Environmental 2. Educational 3. Social 4. Financial
