Co-curricula Programme

co-curricular 2

At Plain View Combined School we believe co – curricular activities play a very important role in the life of the students and the school. Co-curricular activities not only develop physical and artistic skills, but are vital to building community and encouraging a sense of pride and belonging. They provide opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, communication and a competitive spirit, in a fun, safe and pro-active environment. The boys and girls of the school are provided with many opportunities to explore and build their talents and develop as confident, well informed and responsible citizens. We therefore offer a variety of clubs for our students to join and enjoy during school.  In addition, many of our students also learn a musical instrument.

The main purpose of this programme is to provide an avenue for students to be socially interactive and to develop other non-academic skills, in our quest to provide for their holistic nurturing and development. It gives them an opportunity to broaden an already existing interest area or to cultivate a new area of interest.  Towards this end, it is incumbent upon all teachers to organise a well thought out programme to enable the students to realize such goals .

Once the children have joined a club they are expected to attend classes regularly. If they wish to leave a club, then a written note from a parent/guardian must be handed to the teacher in charge.

Artistic expression through art, creative arts and multi-media is valued for self-development and expression and is an integral part of the school’s co-curricular offerings.

Plain View Combined has a strong sporting culture, with sport playing an important part of every student’s education. Inter-house sports are exciting, colourful days where students compete in  football, cricket, fun sports, marathons – cross country walks and athletic events with the opportunity to give full voice to team spirit.

Plain View Combined offers a comprehensive Health and Physical Education curriculum and provides large, well maintained sports fields, outdoor courts, and even a park!

Students have the opportunity to participate in netball, long jump, cricket ball throw, volleyball, cricket, cross country, track and field, tennis and football in local and regional events.

Some of the clubs only run at certain times of the year. Please see the teacher in charge for more details.
